Book Review: From the Mixed-Up Files of Mrs. Basil E. Frankweiler by E.L. Konigsburg

Summary: Claudia is  the oldest kid in her family out of the four children. Claudia also feels like she has the most annoying chores and responsibilities like  helping to take out the garbage and helping her younger  brothers get to school.

Claudia has plans of how she can change those annoying rules. She will run away and live in The Metropolitan  Museum Of Art but not alone but with the second to oldest of her three brothers, Jamie.

Jamie has lots of money from "winning" card games against his friend on the school bus. They do not have plans to stay at the museum forever but only long enough for their parents to learn there lesson.

The children don't plan to run away with out their parents understanding why. After they leave, Claudia and Jamie send a letter explaining why they left but not where they are going.

If you want to know what they did in the museum read From the Mixed-Up Files of Mrs. Basil E. Frankweiler.

Star rating: 4 1/2

Why? I liked this book because it was really interesting and funny because Claudia cares about Jamie's grammar a lot and corrects him.

Scary scale 0/10

Why? This book was not scary because nobody in the book is really a bad guy and .Claudia and Jamie's parents are not mean but the children don't like their normal rules.

Summary: Everyone is different and Jordan Reeves uses her difference as a super power!

She was born with a full arm and a arm that stops above the elbow. Jordan can do amazing things that most kids with full arms might have a hard time with like Adaptive CrossFit. Adaptive CrossFit is like CrossFit but slightly changed so that she could do it with her little arm.

Jordan has gone to many camps for kids with missing limbs that sound amazing and one even one camp experience helped her find her super power!

Using a 3d printer,  Jordan created a unicorn horn shaped glitter shooter for kids with with little arms like hers. She calls it Project Unicorn 🦄🦄🦄🦄! Her project isn't just awesome and super fun looking, it is also good for the earth: she uses glitter that is environmental save.

That's not all! Jordan was on the Rachel Ray show and Shark tank Jr. She also got invited to one of her favorite places: Disney World. She received a Princess Innovation Award! To find out more about Jordan Reeves read Born Just Right.

Star rating 5/5

Why? I liked this book a lot because it was an interesting true story about a girl who uses her disability as a super power. She made Project Unicorn sound so fun I wish I could use it.

Scary Scale 0/10

Why? this book isn't scary because its about a girl with supporting family and friends and showing her inner sparkle✨🦄✨

Dealing with Dragons: The Enchanted Forest Chronicles, Book One by Patricia C. Wrede

Summary: Princess Cimorene of Linderwall is the youngest of 7 sisters and is not what a princess is expected to be.  Cimorene is adventurous and smart unlike her sisters who are silly and proper. One day Cimorene meets a foolish prince who is as boring as the others she met before. Later, Cimorene finds out her parents have  chosen for her to marry this prince.

Cimorene gets upset and would "rather get eaten by a dragon". A toad overhears her and  gives  her directions to where they live. When Princess Cimorene meets the dragons they decide that instead of eating her, Kazul the dragon will let her help with chores like baking and going on adventures. To find out more about their adventures, read  Dealing with Dragons: The Enchanted Forest Chronicles, Book One

Star rating: 5/5

Why? I loved this book because you never know what will happen next and because I had never read anything like it. It is very interesting because Cimorene meets different characters like Morwen the witch. At first I thought she would be old and not very helpful. As I kept reading, I realized she was not only young and pretty but she was also part good and bad. While she is mostly a good witch, her having both good and part parts is is different because in most stories there is usually someone only bad or only good.

Scary scale: 1/10

This book was only a very tiny bit scary because of how Cimorene has to fight many bad creatures that want to kill her but (spoiler alert!), she ends up ok in the end.

Thank you S.Y.R for showing me this awesome book and for being my amazing friend.
