Product Review: Precious Moments Disney Showcase Little Mermaid Musical Snow Globe

Description of  Trinket: It is a medium sized snow globe with a slightly small Princess Ariel doll,  Flounder the fish  and some treasures in the dome. The outside of the snow globe has all kinds of surprise details like Ursula's eels and different collections, similar to what Ariel has in the movie, Disney's The Little Mermaid.

Star Rating: 9/10

Why? I love this snow globe because it is a cute version of Princess Ariel from the Disney movie. I  really like the music, the tune is "Part of Your World". The only thing I dislike about this snow globe  is that the Ariel figure is smaller then I expected.

My Life in Smiley (Book 1 in Smiley series): It's All Good by Anne Kalicky

-

Summary: Max is a kid in middle school who lives in France with his annoying sisters. He writes a journal about everything that happens in his life. The topics include what parties he's been to, what his school is like, and even what he does with his friends. It also includes fighting with bullies. If you want want to know more  about Max, read My Life in Smiley.

Star rating: 4/5

Why?: This book is funny, especially the way the kid draws his point of view of things that happened. The diary style makes it feels like I know his secrets even if Max isn't real.

Scary scale 0/10

Why?: This book wasn't scary because it was silly and realistic. None of the charters die but the bullies are mean. Since the bullies are fiction, it didn't scare me.

Thank you Ms. L. for giving me this book and for being my amazing teacher.

Book Review: The Wonderful Wizard Of Oz by L. Frank Baum

Summary: Dorothy Gale 1ives Kansas with her Aunt Em and Uncle Henry and dear dog, Toto. Kansas is is a very sad grey place but Dorothy has Toto who makes her happy.

One day, there's a tornado but Dorothy is still in her house instead of a shelter, with only Toto to keep her company. The twister picks up her house and brings her to a strange land filled with color.

She meets The Good Witch of  the North who tells her she's in Oz and that she has killed the Wicked Witch of the East by squishing her with her house. Dorothy is scared because she would never choose to kill anything, not even a wicked witch!

Even if Oz is filled  with color, Dorothy wants to go home. She misses her Aunt Em and Uncle Henry. The Good Witch tells her to follow the yellow brick road. To be continued...

Star rating: 4 1/2 out of 5

Why? I liked this book because it was a exiting story about magic, friendship, and home. It is different from the movies like Oz: the Great and Powerful or the Wizard of Oz. I was surprised to find out that the Wicked Witch of the West couldn't hurt Dorothy because of a  magic kiss Dorothy got from the Witch of the North. I liked that Dorothy can't get hurt even if in the movie she could. I also liked that there were parts that were in Oz: the Great and Powerful such as the Little Town of China Dolls. Instead of the dolls being broken like in the movie above, they are all ok and in one piece. Every version of The Wonderful Wizard of Oz is fun but it is exiting to read the original story.

Scary scale 0-10: 0

Why? This book didn't scary me because I had heard the story many times. I had noticed that in every other version the bad guys are scarier but in this version they can't hurt Dorothy.

Book Review: From the Mixed-Up Files of Mrs. Basil E. Frankweiler by E.L. Konigsburg

Summary: Claudia is  the oldest kid in her family out of the four children. Claudia also feels like she has the most annoying chores and responsibilities like  helping to take out the garbage and helping her younger  brothers get to school.

Claudia has plans of how she can change those annoying rules. She will run away and live in The Metropolitan  Museum Of Art but not alone but with the second to oldest of her three brothers, Jamie.

Jamie has lots of money from "winning" card games against his friend on the school bus. They do not have plans to stay at the museum forever but only long enough for their parents to learn there lesson.

The children don't plan to run away with out their parents understanding why. After they leave, Claudia and Jamie send a letter explaining why they left but not where they are going.

If you want to know what they did in the museum read From the Mixed-Up Files of Mrs. Basil E. Frankweiler.

Star rating: 4 1/2

Why? I liked this book because it was really interesting and funny because Claudia cares about Jamie's grammar a lot and corrects him.

Scary scale 0/10

Why? This book was not scary because nobody in the book is really a bad guy and .Claudia and Jamie's parents are not mean but the children don't like their normal rules.

Book Review: Born Just Right by Jordan Reeves & Jen Lee Reeves

Summary: Everyone is different and Jordan Reeves uses her difference as a super power!

She was born with a full arm and a arm that stops above the elbow. Jordan can do amazing things that most kids with full arms might have a hard time with like Adaptive CrossFit. Adaptive CrossFit is like CrossFit but slightly changed so that she could do it with her little arm.

Jordan has gone to many camps for kids with missing limbs that sound amazing and one even one camp experience helped her find her super power!

Using a 3d printer,  Jordan created a unicorn horn shaped glitter shooter for kids with with little arms like hers. She calls it Project Unicorn 🦄🦄🦄🦄! Her project isn't just awesome and super fun looking, it is also good for the earth: she uses glitter that is environmental save.

That's not all! Jordan was on the Rachel Ray show and Shark tank Jr. She also got invited to one of her favorite places: Disney World. She received a Princess Innovation Award! To find out more about Jordan Reeves read Born Just Right.

Star rating 5/5

Why? I liked this book a lot because it was an interesting true story about a girl who uses her disability as a super power. She made Project Unicorn sound so fun I wish I could use it.

Scary Scale 0/10

Why? this book isn't scary because its about a girl with supporting family and friends and showing her inner sparkle✨🦄✨

Dealing with Dragons: The Enchanted Forest Chronicles, Book One by Patricia C. Wrede

Summary: Princess Cimorene of Linderwall is the youngest of 7 sisters and is not what a princess is expected to be.  Cimorene is adventurous and smart unlike her sisters who are silly and proper. One day Cimorene meets a foolish prince who is as boring as the others she met before. Later, Cimorene finds out her parents have  chosen for her to marry this prince.

Cimorene gets upset and would "rather get eaten by a dragon". A toad overhears her and  gives  her directions to where they live. When Princess Cimorene meets the dragons they decide that instead of eating her, Kazul the dragon will let her help with chores like baking and going on adventures. To find out more about their adventures, read  Dealing with Dragons: The Enchanted Forest Chronicles, Book One

Star rating: 5/5

Why? I loved this book because you never know what will happen next and because I had never read anything like it. It is very interesting because Cimorene meets different characters like Morwen the witch. At first I thought she would be old and not very helpful. As I kept reading, I realized she was not only young and pretty but she was also part good and bad. While she is mostly a good witch, her having both good and part parts is is different because in most stories there is usually someone only bad or only good.

Scary scale: 1/10

This book was only a very tiny bit scary because of how Cimorene has to fight many bad creatures that want to kill her but (spoiler alert!), she ends up ok in the end.

Thank you S.Y.R for showing me this awesome book and for being my amazing friend.

Book Review: Twin Troubles (Full House Stephanie) by Mary Wright, 1994

Summary : When Stephanie Tanner's school library needs a fundraiser, she joins the committee with her friend's Darcy and Allie. Unfortunately, her Aunt Becky tells her she needs to babysit her 2 year old cousins Nicky and Alex  every Tuesday.

Stephanie agrees but she secretly takes the twins to her school to work on the fundraiser . Is that the right thing to do? Will anybody find out she wasn't doing a good job babysitting? Find out in the book!

Star rating: 5 stars

Why ? I like this book because it is an interesting pretend story based on the tv show Full House. I also like it because there is a really funny song in it that goes:

100 giggling worms

 ho ho ho

100 wiggling worms

 ho ho ho

see them high see them low see them every were they go

scary scale: 1

Why? The one reason why this book is scary is because Stephanie tanners mom died but it happens before the story starts
